A webinar on “Wind generation technology and its grid integration” was organized on 26th March, 2022 by IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section, Industry Relations Committee along with Power Electronics Society and Industrial Electronics Society. The program was hosted and moderated by Sri M. K. Badapanda, Chair, IRC, PELS & IES IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section. The brief introduction about the speaker and topic to the participants was provided by Dr. Monalisa Biswal, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Technology Raipur. The eminent speaker for the webinar Dr. Zakir Hussain Rather, Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay provided a brief introduction about the worldwide status of wind power generation from past to present. Prof. Rather also provided a brief discussion on the various types of wind turbine types (Type-I, II, III, and IV) available, their merits, demerits and application prospect in present scenario. The concept of LVRT and issues developed during wind intermittency along with various operating modes of grid and fault scenarios were also discussed briefly. Total 50 participants from different reputed national institutes, and industry of India were joined. The question answer session was handled by Prof. Sanjeev Singh, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, MANIT Bhopal. Finally, Mr. Akhilesh Tripathi delivered the vote of thanks to the various dignitaries and participants.
