IEEE EMC Technical Meeting
The Huntsville and Atlanta Chapters of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society invites you to participate in a Technical Meeting on May 19, 2022 featuring a talk given by Mr. Mike Randazzo of AIM-USA. The Virtual Meeting will be set up for 5:45 pm. The program will begin at 6:00 pm with some short chapter status updates.
“Cyber Security on Avionics Data Busses like MIL-STD-1553”
Synopsis:
The need for Cyber Security is well-known today, more than ever, and affects everyone’s daily life. With that being said, it is surprising that some of the most sensitive data out there is barely protected at all. I am referring to Avionics Data busses, found on every major [Military and Commercial] aircraft flying today. The most concerning bus is MIL-STD-1553, which was designed before the term “Cyber Security” was even invented. The concern is that this bus, which was designed with no infiltration protection, could be easily corrupted or manipulated if any unintended data made it on to the databus. Find out what tools are available to help detect and test for vulnerabilities.
