Technical presentation and overview  on thermo-photovoltaics for power genaration

Thermo-photovoltaic (TPV) cells are at the heart of ARL’s proposed multi-fuel combustion heat sources to electricity compact power generation system. There exist various components of compact power generator system including burner, emitter, filter, TPV cells and back side reflector. In this talk, I will present the overview of TPV operation and describe the operation of TPV cells in details. I will describe the state of the art of TPV technology and briefly summarize the future direction to achieve high efficiency TPV power generator system.
