One Week Workshop on 3D Printing and Applications by RIT R&D cell in association with RIT IEEE Student's Chapter STB11763

R & D Cell, RIT, Roorkee in association with student’s chapter of IEEE organized one week Workshop on 3D Printing and Applications for first-year students and faculties working as mentors in the incubation center of RIT.

The workshop was organized for students of all branches in six groups as per the slot given on the circular.

Initially, students were given a brief about the theoretical concept of Rapid prototyping and particularly Fused deposition modeling (the actual process used in 3D printing machines) and stereolithography. Traditional design processes and prototype manufacturing processes were also explained.

The benefits and advantages of Rapid Prototyping were given in detail.

Students were briefed about the process of preparing prototypes on 3D printers which includes preparation of drawing on CAD software, Generation of G-Code through software, and preparation of object/prototype on the 3D printer.

Students were taken to the lab with having 3D printing machine and the job was prepared.
