Doug Tabor. Amateur radio in space - history, international presence, funding, overview of the technology and why amateur operators find it exciting.

I’ve been a radio amateur since age 13 and was a computer science grad from Utah State. My career was primarily in systems software (OS, compilers, firmware). Retired from retirement and working as a broadcast engineer in Wyoming/South Dakota. The RF side of broadcasting is about 10% (with more reliable transmitters) and 90% computers/networking.
