MTS-AUV ZHCET, AMU, in collaboration with IEEE STB ZHCET, AMU, organized an underwater robotics vehicle competition on 1st April 2022. The competition was kick-started by an inaugural ceremony at the assembly hall in the Engineering College. The ceremony began with a few verses from the holy Quran and went on with the addresses of the chairman of the Electronics Department, Prof. Ekram Khan, Electrical Department, Prof. Salman Hameed, and Mechanical Department, Prof. Mohd. Muzzammil. Prof. Saleem Anwar Khan, Faculty Advisor, MTS-AUV, introduced the club to the audience. There took place MOU's exchange between MTS-AUV and the company Andromeidia. Prof. Mohd. Rihan and Prof. Sajjad Athar also shed some light on the competition. Prof. Pervez Mustajab, the acting Vice-chancellor, addressed the audience and congratulated the teams. The was a prize distribution ceremony for the previously organized Poster-Making competition for school children. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Mohd. Zaid, Branch Counsellor, IEEE STB AMU, followed by AMU Tarana and National Anthem.The venue shifted to Yusuff Ali Aquatics Complex, where the 5 teams: Team Nirma (Institute of Technology, Nirma University), Team DTU (Delhi Technological University), Team BIT-MAL-ROV (Bannari Amman Institute of Technology), Team PLUZ ULTRAZ (Bannari Amman Institute of Technology), and Team Hustlers (Aligarh Muslim University), competed against each other in Task-1. The judges for the competition were Siddhant Bajpai (Founder and CEO of Andromeidia), Anuj Batra (Co-founder, Andromeidia), Thomas (Chief Robotics Engineer, Andromeidia) and Azhar Jamil from Andromedia, Dr. Adil Sarwar, from Dept. of Electrical Engg, ZHCET, AMU. After the task was completed, the teams were taken to the Kennedy auditorium, where a cultural night was organized for them. This energetic musical event concluded with dinner at ML lawn, ZHCET.Day-2: 2nd April began with the teams touring the campus and taking insights into some rich heritage of the Aligarh Muslim University. After the vibrant tour, teams returned to the Yusuff Ali Aquatics Complex for Task-2 and Task-3. Teams worked hard and competed against each other for Task-2. After the lunch break, Task-3 initiated, where the teams had to finally run for the cash prize money worth 50,000 INR. After all the tasks were accomplished, a valedictory session took place in which the results of AMUROVc were announced along with MAZE, a previously organized series of competitions by MTS-AUV ZHCET.
The valedictory session was hosted by Faizan Shakeel, Abbas Syed Nooruddin, and Mahena Mahmood. The chief guest for the session was Prof. Pervez Mustajab, Dean faculty of Engg. & Tech. and acting Vice-Chancellor of AMU. All the judges of the competition were present, along with Prof. Ekram Khan, Chairman Dept. of Electronics Engg., Prof. Saleem Anwar Khan, Faculty Advisor of MTS-AUV, Dr. Abdullah Yousuf Usmani, and Dr. Mohd. Tariq, Branch Coordinator of IEEE STB AMU, Mr. Mohd. Zaid, Branch Counselor of IEEE STB AMU. Team 'PLUZ ULTRAZ from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology and 'Team Hustlers' from the Zakir Husian College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were declared the joint winners of the 'Aligarh Muslim University Remotely Operated Vehicles Challenge'AMUROVc, a national level underwater robotics challenge. They received certificates and cash prizes of Rs 20,000 each from Prof Parvez Mustajab. Members of theTeam "BIT-MAL-ROV" from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology collected a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a certificate for finishing second in the contest. Team DTU (Delhi Technological University, Delhi) was awarded by Andromeidia for being the most technically equipped. Team Nirma (Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Gujrat) and Team DTU were given certificates of participation. The competition was sponsored by AMU Old Boys Association Qatar Chapter, Andromeidia, E&E Solutions, IMS Coaching, Burger & Wings, and Scoops.
