Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. Its mission is conceptualized as a movement to enable processes that connect institutes of higher education with local communities to address the developmental challenges of rural India through participatory processes and appropriate technologies for accelerating sustainable growth. In line with the above mission of UBA, we at Roorkee Institute of Technology, Roorkee took an initiative as a CSR promoter to install four ceiling fans at Government Primary School, Village Bhalaswa Gaj, Block Bhagwanpur (Dist. Haridwar, U.K State) dated May 18, 2022.
The initiative was taken with the cooperation of the headmaster of the school, Mr. Sushil Kumar, and Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta (teacher). Under the theme of “BASIC AMENITIES”, which includes safe drinking water, sanitation, housing, the all-weather road to the village, electrification, fuel, connectivity, healthcare center, school, playground, and recreational facilities, RIT took the initiative to install four ceiling fans in school. It was a happy moment for the school authorities as well as the children of the school. The headmaster Mr. Sushil Kumar expressed his joy and thanked RIT Management and Director Dr. Parag Jain to take up such an initiative. Unnat Bharat Team of RIT under the guidance of Mr. Munendra Chauhan and Mr. Harshit Gautam took up this task in collaboration with Mr. Nitin Verma (Project Assistant, Regional Coordinating Institute, UBA- IIT Roorkee) who provided guidance in the completion of this task.
