Please join us for this year IEEE Montréal Keynote Event. 

Prof. Yolande E. Chan is going to talk about the use of SMAC (social media, mobile technologies, analytics and cloud computing) to advance communities in crisis (e.g., in response to poverty or natural disasters) and resource-constrained businesses (e.g., startups). She will also describe her journey from a focus on engineering to business (i.e., designing technology to using and managing technology).

Professor Yolande E. Chan Professor Yolande E. Chan

Biography:

Yolande E. Chan is Dean and James McGill Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. She holds a PhD in Business Administration from Ivey Business School at Western University, an MPhil in Management Studies from Oxford University (as a Rhodes Scholar), and SM and SB degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. Her research focuses on digital technology strategy and digital innovation, and is regularly published in the top journals in her field (Information Systems). She is co-Editor-in Chief of the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, one of the top journals. She is a Fellow and Distinguished Cum Laude member of the Association for Information Systems.
