IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) and IEEE Young Professionals (YP) Miami Section Affinity Groups are going to host a Training Session for the IEEE Volunteers. We are delighted to have Dr. Naznin Akter, Chair of the IEEE YP and IEEE WIE Miami Section AG, to conduct the training session.

Biography:

Naznin Akter just received her Ph.D. from the Department of ECE at Florida International University (FIU), where she previously worked at INSYST Integrated Nanosystems Research Lab. She is currently holding several leadership positions in IEEE. She is the IEEE Photonics Society Young Professionals Advisory Committee's STEP & Graduate Transition Representative, member of IEEE Photonics Society Professional Advancement Committee, the Chair of the IEEE Photonics Society and IEEE Sensors Council Miami section Joint Chapter, the Chair of the IEEE Young Professional Miami section AG, the Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Miami section AG, IEEE YP R3 ExCom member, Student Ambassador of the IEEE WIE R3, and the IEEE Volunteering Platform Ambassadors 2022. She is also a Student Editor for the IEEE Photonics Society Newsletter and an Editor for the IEEE IMPACT blog. She is also working as a 2022 IEEE Day Ambassador and 2023 Rising Star conference organizing committee member. She served as a committee member, and the IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity in Action) R3 AdHoc Committee of IEEE Region 3 and Ambassador in the IEEEXtreme 13.0. Apart from IEEE, she also served as the Treasure for the Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, FIU chapter, Marketing Content Developer for South Florida PMI Chapter (20-21), organizing Committee Member of ComSciCon Miami 2020, and Event Management for Bangladesh Student Organization (BSO) at Florida International University for Fall 2019 semester.
