Brief description:
On 23rd May 2022, IEEE Information Theory Society, SEC Student Branch Chapter in association with Computer Society of India and Department of Computer Science and Engineering, conducted an event titled “CanFig –a two day hands on Design Training Session on Canva and Figma”. The event commenced with a welcome address from Dr. B Latha, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Then the student trainers took over. Ms. Sruthi G S began with a session on UI & UX, followed by Mr. Nithish Raja, who explained about the basics of Canva. In the afternoon session Ms. Neathi gave an introduction about Figma. After this, a hands-on session on Figma was conducted by Ms. Lithika and Ms. Divya.
On 24th May 2022, day two of the event, the design contest was held. The students were given 5 topics to choose from and were asked to develop a design for the same by 2 PM. After this, all the teams were evaluated and the top 5 teams were selected and were asked to present their design. Finally, cash prizes were awarded for the top three teams and certificates were awarded to the top 5 teams. The session concluded with a valedictory speech from Dr. B Latha, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who encouraged the students to participate in more such events and develop their skills.
