IEEE Alaska Section - Talkeetna Teleport Site Visit - Aurora GEO and LEO Satellite System
This visit follows up on the IEEE Alaska Section meeting presentation on August 24 from Pacific Dataport and Microcom allowing us to see the features up close and ask additional questions at this state-of-the-art facility. The Teleport was built on the original RCA satellite earthstation which brought long distance and other links to the lower 48 and world in the 1970s.
We look forward to seeing the implmentation and hearing of potential growth of the teleport since our original presentation to the IEEE in 2019.
Saturday's attendance is limited to 20. The Alaska Section will be furnishing Microcom with site visit registrant's emails. Microcom will send on-site registration information directly to registrants for completion by Thursday August 25. No special PPE is required of the visitors.
Please add in the special requests section of the registration, your interest in carpooling for the approximate 2 hour ride to the site. Indicate if you already have others riding with you or are riding with another person. For general carpool, I would like to meet at Tikatnu Commons off of Muldoon Road by the old Sam's Club area by 7:40 am and leaving before 8 am. Please include your phone number when you register.
