Demystifying Research in Aircraft Adhoc Networks: Challenges & Solutions
Abstract: This talk will be around unmasking research issues with the new future networking technology i.e. AANETs (Aircraft Ad-hoc Networks). These networks are subclass of traditional MANETs. But due to their unique characteristic, AANETs are different in terms of implementation especially because of their very high mobility, lesser node density, intermittent link quality due to flight banking and antenna occlusion and mobility models used for their realistic movement. Various design issues at different networking layers will be discussed and will be presented during the talk. Literature survey has shown that due to very high mobility, the link between different flying nodes (aircrafts) is very difficult to be maintained along with better quality.
