Motion Capture Workshop
Leveraging optical tracking for robotic applications
Join us at WPI’s Practice Point Motion Capture Lab to learn about how motion capture can be used in robotics research. We will show examples of projects that have used motion capture and do some live demonstrations on operating the Vicon system. Students will have the opportunity to interact with the tools and system towards the end of the session.

Motion Capture
Learning how to use motion capture for robotics research
Biography:
I am currently a PhD candidate in robotics engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Insitute in Worcester, Massachusetts. I recieved my undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering then switched to robotics for my master's degree. After working in the industry for a couple of years, I returned to academia to pursue research in assistive and rehabilitative robotics in the Automation and Interventional Medicine (AIM) Lab with Dr. Gregory Fischer. I am passionate about involving the patient, their caregiver, and clinicians in the design and testing process, and I believe that human movement studies and user studies are critical to maximizing the impact of medical robotics. Some of my current research includes studying brain activation during hand exoskeleton use and exploring the effects of different user control mechanisms on neurorehabilitation. This work would not be possible without the support from the NSF as an NRT FORW-RD fellow.
