1. Bhuvan Governance Applications: - Mr. Arulraj.M
Bhuvanhttps://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/ is serving as G-governance platform by hosting applications
of various Ministries/Departments of Central/State Government for planning, monitoring and
evaluation. Bhuvan also provides customized solutions to users to meet specific requirements.
The versatility and applications on Bhuvan platform have grown over a period of time. The
collaboration with State and Central government agencies has been very fruitful with
realization of many unique applications and services by fusion of technology and expertise.
Bhuvan, with its proven potential, has become an important platform for many to build newer
geospatial tools, innovative applications and customized solutions to fulfill the specific needs.
Major driving factors for making Bhuvan to be a successful Indian Geo-Platform are its
adaptability to any given situation and providing quick solution to Asset Mapping and
Monitoring; Planning and Development; Monitoring & Evaluation; Decision Making; Reporting
& Advisory; Natural Resources Management; Citizen Centric Applications,Covid-19 supporting
Applications,Mobile Applications,etc.All the applications and services catered through Bhuvan
are developed using open-source solutions and all services are Open Geospatial Consortium
(OGC) compliant.
2. Bhuvan Value Added Services & Data Science: - Ms RN Anjani
Bhuvan hosts wide range of Products and services, categorized into 4 verticals - Temporal High
resolution Satellite Imageries; Thematic data of Various Applications; Climate and Disaster Data
and Point of Information Data. With the available huge volume of data - Organizing, Processing
and Analyzing voluminous data to extract insights is becoming a challenging task and working
towards DataScience and AIML techniques to interpret data and derive inferences, extract
meaningful insights from data for use in strategic decision making, product development, trend
analysis and forecasting. Bringing out technical solutions on Emerging Hotspot analysis with
completely new approach, Trend Analysis on Night Time Light data and correlating with socioeconomic parameters, Resource Inventory (9-fold classification) at revenue village level using
HRdata and AI/ML techniques,Inventory of individual/Group of Trees across the Country using
AIML. Know Your Resources -- Land Resources Inventory at large scale and sharing to Citizens
through Mobile Application, Bhuvan SDG Framework - Extracting information to monitor SDG
indicators.
3. Bhuvan Satellite imagery – Downloads, Visualization, Analytics: -Mr P Aravindakumar
Bhuvan currently hosts multi-resolution, multi-sensor and multi-temporal, satellite imagery;
thematic maps of 12 natural resources, 100+ million Point of Interest data from crowd sourcing,
70+NICES products for downloads, 10000+ OGC Services. Bhuvan is enriched by updating
various latest satellite data contents from year 2009 to till date. It includes, 1544.89 Lakh Sq.
Km of AWiFS datasets(56m), 690.27 Lakh Sq. Km of LISS-III datasets (25m), 120 Lakh Sq. Km of
LISS-IV MX (5m), 155.74 Lakh Sq. Km of 2.5m Color and 94 Lakh Sq. Km of 1m color images. In
total, Bhuvan EO portal is updated with 260.49 million Sq. Km of satellite data.
Bhuvan Satellite imagery used for visualization as well as downloads. AWiFS and LISS-III
datasets were orthorectified and offered for free data downloads to users.
This session describes details on Bhuvan Satellite imagery for visualization including 50m
spatial resolution to 1m spatial resolution. The Bhuvan satellite imagery downloads has for
various layers. This session also describes the analytics on usage of Bhuvan portal including
satellite imagery.
Bio-Data
1. Mr. ARULRAJ, M.
MrArulraj.MSci/Engr-SG, Group Head, Bhuvan Geoportal and Web Services Group,
National Remote Sensing Centre/ISRO. He has obtained his Bachelors and Masters in
Engineering in Geoinformatics from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University,
Chennai.
Mr. Arulrajhas 18 years of work experience in Geoinformatics Engineering; Design and
Development of Web GIS EnterpriseSolutions using Open-Source Solutions. He is the
founder member of Bhuvan Geoportal, responsible for design and development of
Governance applications besides the technology development on Bhuvan.Currently, he
is focusing more on societal applications. His Area of interest are Web GIS, 3D GIS,
Opensource Geospatial Solutions. He is the recipient of many awards’ notable are ISRO
‘Team Excellence award’,ISRO ‘Young Scientist Award’, ‘Indian National Geospatial
Award’,Team Excellence award from ‘Astronautical Society of India (ASI)’.
2. Ms RN ANJANI
Ms. R N Anjani, Scientist-SG, is presently working as Head, Value Added Services
Division, NRSC/ISRO. She has post graduated in Computer Applications from Osmania
University, Hyderabad.
Mrs. Anjani has 20 years of work experience in Image Processing; Design and
Development of Software Applications for generation and automation of Remote
Sensing Data products. Currently, she is focusing on DataScience, Data Analytics and
AIML to bring out technical solutions using RS data products and collateral information.
To her credit, she has 14 papers published in peer reviewed journals, Conferences and
Seminars.
3. Mr. P ARAVINDAKUMAR
Shri. P. Aravinda Kumar is working as Head, Bhuvan Content Generation Division (BCGD)
in National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO, Dept of Space. He has 30+ years of experience
in domains of Satellite data processing, Remote Sensing, Image Processing, GIS.
He immensely contributed in satellite data processing. He is the founder member in
value added products generation for IRS satellites and realized many new satellite data
products and products were customized as per the user requirements.
He has developed satellite data processing software for LANDSAT, which take care of
earth curvature, rotation and panoramic corrections to generate standard products.
He is the founder member of Bhuvan Geoportal, responsible for design and
implementation of various contents including satellite image mosaics and derived
products. Currently, He is focusing on advanced satellite data processing, feature
extraction from very high-resolution satellites using AI/ML, satellite data dissemination
through web portals.
Shri. P. AravindaKuamr is computer science graduate from JNTU, Hyderabad. He is the
recipient of ISRO award for contribution to Bhuvan Web portal and also received ASI
award for Bhuvan.
