Bangladesh’s VLSI industry is slowly emerging as a potential industry. Many of us are highly interested in learning about the VLSI industry.

The team of Ulkasemi Limited has been at the BUBT campus on 12th October 2022 in order to make the BUBTian enthusiastic learners, especially the final year students known of the VLSITHON, a battle of IC Layout Engineers super thoroughly and provide the basic concepts of simple industry grade IC layout design.

The event entitled "VLSITHON workshop: Glimpse of Industry Grade Layout Design" took 4 hours long that became much interactive with the passionate trainers and the enthusiastic learners. IEEE BUBT Student Branch and IEEE PES BUBT Student Branch Chapter successfully organized the impactful workshop.

The topics that will be discussed in this workshop are:

Introduction of the workshop, Discussion about the study theory topic.
Introduction of cadence virtuoso
Working process as layout engineers
Explain the Layers of a CMOS
Demonstrate Inverter NAND (Show/ Provide)
Demonstrate a basic hierarchy cell (Mux/ Decoder)
Basic Power Grid discussion
Discussion about LVS /DRC

The honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Fayyaz Khan sir was the event's chief guest and had an inspiring talk about the BUBT students and gratitude towards the Ulkasemi team. The guest speakers were Shaer Ahmed, Senior Engineer, Ulkasemi, USA office, Md Muzamnel Hossain, Assistant Manager, Marketing Department, Ulkasemi, BD office, Farhana Afroj Mithila, Asst. Engineer, Ulkasemi, BD office, Richard Victor Biswas, Asst. Engineer, Ulkasemi, BD office had tremendous sessions over the IC Layout design that provides relevance to the proper vision of the industry. It became successful with the valuable presence of Vice Chancellor BUBT, Prof. Dr. Md. Fayyaz Khan sir, Chairman, Department of EEE, Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain sir, 40+ enthusiastic participants, the active volunteers of IEEE BUBT Student Branch, and the honorable teachers of BUBT. We are hopeful to arrange such impactful events in the future.
