IEEE North Jersey Section End-of-the-Year Dinner Meeting Event
The IEEE North Jersey Section is pleased to announce its annual End-of-the-Year Dinner-Meeting Event.
Our section officers serve a two-year term and the 2021-2022 ExCom officers for the North Jersey Section will hand over to the new ExCom starting their term for 2023-2024.
Please register for the event in advance as the venue requires the exact number of attendees to be given in advance.
The section chair has organized gift items as a token of appreciation for all the officers of our section, so please don't forget to register yourself, so you may receive your gift at the venue.
This year our invited guest speaker is Prof. Bharat Biswal, a Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering at NJIT, and a Fellow of The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
You may bring your spouse or one guest (complimentary by the Section), and also make sure to register your guest for the attendee headcount for dinner and gifts.

Advances in Medical Imaging in the Era of Big Data
Abstract:
Recent advances in medical imaging technologies have resulted in an unprecedented number of medical images being collected across the world. As a result, the number of medical images being generated has risen almost exponentially over the last several years.
In this talk, we will discuss a number of novel applications that have been possible using large data sets. Application using precision medicine, detection of clinical cases including Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism Spectrum will be covered.
We will also discuss the use of big data to answer specific biological questions that were not possible before.
Biography:
Bharat Biswal is a Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is an Internationally renowned researcher recognized for mapping the brain's activity. He has authored some of the most highly cited papers in clinical imaging since 2014. He has authored and co-authored 150 articles appearing in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Fellow of The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). He received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1996.
