About the Speaker :
Dr. Khaliqur Rahman is an Assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and M.Tech in Power Systems and Drives from Aligarh Muslim University in 2008 and 2010 respectively. He also completed his Ph.D. from the College of Engineering, Qatar University in the area of Modeling and control of multi-phase matrix converters for motor drive applications in 2019. He has published more than 30 papers at various international conferences and high-ranked journals including IEEE ICIT, IEEE ISIE, and IEEE AIEC.
On the occasion of IEEE Week 2022, an interactive session on Technical Report Writing was organized by IEEE Student Branch ZHCET on Monday, 3rd October 2022 in Electrical Engineering Department (EED) Conference room. Dr. Khaliqur Rahman, an eminent faculty member, was the session's speaker. The welcome address was given by Rehma Manaal Rizvi, Joint Secretary, WIE Affinity Group, AMU. The seminar was open to all branches of Engineering and Technology and approximately 30 students were in attendance.
The session started with the keynote speaker (Dr. Khaliqur Rahman) sharing with the students the importance of writing a well-structured report, the writing process, and the ethics to be followed while writing a report. Further, he discussed the main elements of a technical report and briefly described each of them. Followed by this, he presented the top ten tips for writing a successful technical report. He also highlighted the significance of professional integrity and research ethics in writing a report. In the end, an interactive 15 minutes session was conducted that gave the attendees the to raise questions and queries. All the questions were addressed in a very elegant way. The discussions also provided several ideas and suggestions for future learning. Post interactive session, the attendees were informed about the Technical Report Writing contest including the rules, topics, and the platform of submission. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ziya-Ur-Rehman, Advertisement Executive, IEEE Student Branch, AMU. Indeed, the session was very informative and insightful and filled the students with a plethora of knowledge.
