“Women in Sensors- Security and Health Care”
IEEE Sensors Council Hyderabad Chapter presences A Women in Sensors (WiSe) Program on
Theme: “Women in Sensors- Security and Health Care” (Hybrid mode) dated on 16th -17th Nov 2022 at BVRIT HYDERABAD College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad.
Women in Sensors (WiSe) aims to promote globally, the presence and advancement of persons who identify as women in the technical area and professions related to sensors. It is targeted at professional women in sensing technology, from industry or academia, and will provide the opportunity to create communities to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide support through highly interactive sessions designed to foster discussion and collaboration.
The speakers for two days workshop are as follows:

Speakers
Sarbani Ghosh,
Electronic Structure and Morphology of n-Type Conducting Polymers for Gas Sensor
toxic and combustible gases which can cause harm to human health. Not only indoor, they are also
used to improve outdoor air quality. The demand of gas sensors in our daily life is continuously increasing to improve
workplace safety by detecting harmful gases, to detect fire, to detect odor in home/office, to monitor environmental
pollution, in several process control industries, to name a few. A Gas sensor consisting of a transducer and an active layer, converts chemical information to electronic
signal. The transducer can be an optical transducer to detect
the change in optical spectra for sensing toxic gas. My talk is focused on the use of conducting polymers as an active layer of gas sensors. Precisely, talk is to provide theoretical insight of gas sensors based on conducting polymers in
terms of electronic structures, optical absorption and morphology of the active layer.
