Join us November 16th as we learn from Tom Marsh – Novaspect about PID Algorithm Components, reactions, and common tuning methods.

The Art of Tuning is matching the Control System Dynamics to the Process Dynamics. To do this, an understanding is required of the most common control algorithm, PID, and the methods commonly used to make it match the process dynamics. Join us for an overview of how the different PID terms affect response, and a review of the 4 most common methods for tuning, Ziegler-Nichols, Trial and Error, Autotuners, and Lambda Tuning.

Tom Marsh has 35 years of experience in control systems and tuning. Starting his career in boilers and performing boiler tuning, he has worked for various different DCS suppliers and also spent several years working on different PLC platforms, primarily for Burner Management System applications. Currently employed by Novaspect where he works on DeltaV implementation projects and supports local customers with tuning and other control system enhancements. Novaspect's broad customer base gives Tom a wide variety of opportunities to work with customers that specialize in manufacturing Surfactants, Ethanol, Fertilizers, Steam, Egg Cartons, Petrochemicals and a wide range of other products.
