Biography:

Dr. Sanjay Kala is the principal and senior surgeon at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical college. He got the inspiration from his elder sister to become a doctor. He got selected in CPMT from Kanpur and Agra. He has opted to do his MBBS from Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra. Dr. Kala has done his masters in surgery from IMS BHU. He has worked at Apollo Hospital for 2.5 years. He has also worked at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, New Delhi. Dr. Kala has joined GSVM in the year 2003 and became the Head of the department in the year 2010. During the covid pandemic, he was entrusted to handle the responsibilities of the principal at GSVM and since then he has done a wonderful job in taking GSVM to new heights. Dr. Kala has been Secretary of state surgeon association for 6 years. He has been selected as the president of state surgeon association. Dr. Kala has 27 publications and 157 citations under his name.

He has been awarded with numerous prestigious awards such as:-
1. Dr R.K.Garg Memorial Best Paper Award for P.Gs by U.P. chapter of A.S.I. in year 1998
2. Dr D.K.Mukherjee Talent Award by I.M.A. in year 1997
3. Certificate of Merit for excellent contribution to the working of the hospital in Indraprastha Apollo
Hospital New Delhi in year 2000
4. Best chapter paper award during ASICON 2010 at AIIMS New Delhi.
5. Young outstanding Surgical Teacher award for the year 2011 by UPASI.
6. Received international award of excellence in Bariatric surgery on 07.09. 13 by deputy prime
minister of Thailand.
