IEEE IAS Atlanta Virtual Tutorial (NEC 2023 Changes)

The presentation will be based on the Analysis of Changes, NEC 2023 book published by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).

NEC 2023 Changes
The 2023 edition of NFPA 70 (NEC) was published and effective September 1st, 2022. NEC 2023 State by State adoption and enforcement is expected to start in 2023. This presentation will give you an overview of the key revisions in NEC 2023 along with the intend and impact of these changes.
Biography:
Jim Scerenscko is a Senior Electrical Inspector for the City of Portland. He has been in the Electrical Industry for 35 years. Prior to moving to Oregon, Jim worked as the Senior Principal Inspector and Plan Reviewer with the City of Atlanta and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager for the electrical portion of the construction of the Mercedes Benz Stadium with Cleveland Electric and Allison-Smith Company.
Jim attended the East Brunswick Vocational-Technical School in NJ as an Electrical Apprentice. He has worked in different aspects of the electrical industry - from apprentice to journeyman, electrical contractor, quality assurance, and electrical inspector. Jim is also an Instructor for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 613 in their Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee program. He is also an instructor at the Northwest Institute of Electrical Technology (NWIET) in Portland – where he teaches 4th year electrical exam preparation to aspiring journeyman. Jim is an active member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), and an ICC Preferred Provider for the International Code Council (ICC).
