Anthonie Cilliers of Kairos Power
Plant control and health monitoring
Kairos Power is mission-driven company singularly focused on commercializing advanced reactor technology in time to play a significant role in the fight against climate change. Leveraging TRISO fuel and a low-pressure molten salt coolant, the company's novel technology delivers a passively safe, clean energy solution at an affordable cost thanks to a simplified reactor design and optimized safety footprint coupled with vertical integration for cost-significant components.
Hear how Kairos Power is developing sophisticated plant control and health monitoring systems along with plant simulator and human machine interfaces following a rapid iterative approach with non-nuclear and nuclear iterations preceding the first commercial reactor. See inside the control room for Kairos Power's Engineering Test Unit in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and learn how lessons from ETU will be integrated into the Hermes demonstration reactor to be built in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
