INDUSTRIAL VISIT to National Small Industries Corporation
IEEE GRIET TEMS SB organized an Industrial Visit under the title "INDUSTRIAL VISIT to NSIC" to National Small Industries Corporation, Musheerabad on 21st November 2022. The visit was centric on entrepreneurship and the need for it. The visit was headed by the faculty of Department of AIML, Mrs.Preethi Vennam and Dr. Sanjeeva Polepaka. The bus started at 8:30 AM at the college and reached the venue by 10:00 AM. The day started with a session on 'Entrepreneurship' by Dr. MONOHARAN. The speaker touched on the importance of entrepreneurship and its need for the growth of entrepreneurship in India. The speaker also discussed trending topics like 'Startup India'
and 'Make in India'. The speaker has covered the following points during the session:
• Students were made aware of the importance of entrepreneurship. He also encouraged the students to keep trying things they are good at, regardless of the outcomes.
• The importance of innovating the products which are the need of the hour.
• The need for the 3 goals that the nation as a whole should try to achieve. These goals include Employment, Wealth Creation, and Innovation.
• The benefits of working in an Organization.
• Trending topics like 'Make in India', 'Startup India', and 'Make it India' were also discussed in detail.
The session gave clarity and presented world scenarios of opportunities to the student,
along with the necessity for them to develop skills. The session was followed by a fun activity between boys and girls. In this activity, the girls'
team won unanimously. The fun activity was followed by a small break. After the break, there was a talk on Banks
and the schemes related to entrepreneurship for Indian youth having innovative ideas or
passionate to start/expand small scale to medium scale industries.
The speaker touched on the following points during the session:
• Insights on the types of investors and the need of banks.
• Some important Bank schemes in this age.
• The bank schemes include MUDRA(Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency), PMEGP(Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme), and CGTMSE(Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises.
The benefits and insights of every scheme were discussed in detail. The very informative session about Banks was followed up by a visit to the Robotics and Automation Lab. The students got to visit and experience the two lab setups situated at the venue. The resource persons present at the venue explained in detail about all the equipment in the lab. The students got to learn about the various equipments and its uses in the domain of Robotics and Automation. This was followed by a visit to the Machinery Lab at the venue. The students visited the various labs equipped with numerous machines to enhance their technical knowledge regarding the upcoming manufacturing industries. The NSIC faculties briefed about the various production processes, cutting tools and machine tools, material testing, and various types of CNC machines. The day came to an end with the visit to the lab setups present at NSIC. These labs gave
a lot of knowledge on the working of the machines and the equipment used to build them.The industrial visit received excellent reviews as it imparted knowledge concerning students' professional future and was appealing to the students. IEEE GRIET TEMS believes guidance plays a key role to achieve one's goal and gaining clarity about it and hence, always supports such industrial visits that help students evolve.
