The purpose of the talk is to casually present chosen lessons, both technical and personal, from Haitham Hindi's rich engineering career in the fields of control and optimization, developed over the years working for a number of highly renowned high-tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to that, Haitham Hindi has accrued a broad experience from diverse academic and industrial cultures around the world. Career development tips directly from Haitam Hindi in person present a welcome opportunity to our professionals at various stages of their own careers, from graduate students to full proffesors.
Biography:
Haitham Hindi received his MS and PhD from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he worked in several high-profile technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area as an optimization and control systems specialist. He worked on optimization algorithms for online pricing, advertising, and revenue management in one company, and he also worked on robotic radiation treatment devices; energy management systems; networked and hybrid control; manufacturing and transportation networks; matrix rank reduction; nonlinear control systems; particle accelerators; and disk drives in other companies.
