Quality-of-life in smart cities: a project perspective

Maximizing quality of life is essential to the growth of cities and a factor that projects can influence. In this way, they don’t represent instruments or models, but rather choices that project leaders can make to maximize social innovation and progress. The insights gathered from recently concluded data collection (4000 official smart city projects) clearly show project distribution across various quality-of-life dimensions. Education, housing, culture, transportation, spirituality, and many other themes will be addressed in both qualitative and quantitative terms.

Biography:

For more than 25 years, Ms. Pasian has been an enthusiastic project management advocate. Having started with the management of eLearning projects (and furthered with a Masters and PhD), Beverly has managed, taught and conducted research in PM (project Management) in the public sector around the world and dozens of teaching experiences and publications have been accumulated along the way.

A desire to maximize the social impact of her project management career led to a change in direction a few years ago. Moving from the tech frontier of education to that of cities, she made one of the easiest and best decisions of her professional life! Investigating the role of projects in smart cities is her focus with the ultimate goal of working directly with companies and cities to do the same.

Two thirds of the world population will live in cities by 2050...Beverly would like them to be places worth living in by focusing on what matters to each of us...our quality of life!
