IMPRACTICAL IDEATION
IEEE JUIT-SB in collaboration with Technology Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell
conducted an event “Impractical Ideathon”.
The event focused on the promotion of project development and learning for the students. The event
consisted of 2 Rounds, on 10 November 2022 entries provided by the students were filtered and the best
of them were selected for the final round presentation. Round 2 is the showcase round. Students were
given a time limit of 10 minutes to present their idea in front of the judges. A total of 11 entries were
selected to put on a showcase for the final round. The students were provided with separate tables to set-
up their project. All the participants were ready with their presentation and prototype.
Prof. Kailash Shrivastava, Senior RnD Engineer, ABB Sweden, Adjunct Professor, IIT Mandi; Dr.
Arun Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, PEC; Mr. Balram Duggal; Business Analyst, Netsmartz, IT
Park Chandigarh; Prof. Sunil Kumar Khah, IEEE JUIT SB Mentor judged the event. The judging criteria
for the round were ideation, innovation, usefulness, and commercialization. The event was
coordinated by Prof. Shruti Jain, IEEE JUIT SB Counsellor, and Prof. Ashish Kumar, HCED, Nodal
Officer Incubation Center, JUIT apart from them, and IEEE student coordinators and members were also
present at the scene to help and guide the participants.
The event came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony. First place was awarded to “Landslide
Prediction System” by - Tushar Paul and Ekal Sharma. Second place to “Placement Portal” by -
Akshit Sharma, Shashwat Srivastava, and Anushka Srivastava, and Third place was awarded to
“Maintaining Diets During Gymming” by - Saurav Kumar, Aditya Dwivedee, and Saptansh.
With this, the students took the mirage of knowledge with them.
