This is a two (Tuesday, Jan 17, 2023, and Wednesday, Jan 18, 2023) evening event from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.


The 2023 edition features significant alterations to modernize the code to present-day standards, including updated requirements for all electrical systems—both residential and commercial—and new articles for never-before-covered systems and equipment, including Class 4 fault-managed circuits.

The 2023 edition of the NEC was issued by the NFPA Standards Council on August 12, 2022. The effective date of September 1, 2022, is when it officially became available for federal, state, county, and municipal governmental entities to update their electrical installation regulations.

John Paschal, P.E., SMIEEE of IEEE R5 Houston Section

Biography:

With over five decades of Electrical Engineering experience, he is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, and Alaska, and a four-decade-long holder of a Texas Master Electrician License. John was the Project Manager for Electrical Discipline on the tallest building west of the Mississippi. He is a holder of Cold Regions Engineering Certification in Alaska and the Author of 20 electrical engineering books.

He has a decade of University experience as an Assistant Professor and is an IEEE Senior Member. As an Electrical Engineer for many LNG plants, he has expertise with Large VFD-Drives and Motors at LNG plants. John was the owner’s Engineer for the electrically driven Freeport LNG plant and own his own electrical consulting firm for two decades. He has been a repeated guest lecturer on NEC changes to the IEEE Houston Section.
