A virtual and in-person meeting

Platte River Power Authority is a not-for-profit, community-owned public power utility that generates and delivers safe, reliable, environmentally responsible and financially sustainable energy and services to Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland, Colorado, for delivery to their utility customers. Platte River's generation portfolio includes coal, wind, hydro, solar and gas resources. In December 2018, Platte River’s board of directors adopted a Resource Diversification Policy that directs Platte River to proactively work toward achieving a 100% noncarbon resource mix by 2030 while maintaining reliability and financial sustainability. In addition, Platte River and its owner communities developed a distributed energy resource (DER) strategy to be responsive to customers’ growing interest in DERs and to support achievement of the 2030 noncarbon goal. We are going to answer the following questions:

-          What does Platte River do?

-          What is a distributed energy resource (DER)?

-          How will DERs be integrated into our existing power grid?
