Summary:  Lessons Learned from deployment of Distribution Storage and Microgrids at Xcel Energy

Xcel Energy is installing 6 microgrids in Colorado to support critical facilities and provide grid services using battery energy storage. The presentation will summarize the current state of these projects and review lessons learned that are informing how to approach future microgrid designs

Biography:

Nathan is an engineer in Xcel Energy’s Grid Storage and Emerging Technologies group. His role involves scoping, design, implementation, and operation of Xcel’s distribution energy storage and microgrid projects. He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 2011. Prior to coming to Xcel, he spent the first 10 years of his career working at Oncor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.





Cost: IEEE member: $15.00 for dinner; Non-IEEE members: $20.00 for dinner; Student IEEE members: free dinner.
