Bushings are usually reliable devices, but they are also one of the most likely causes of catastrophic transformer failure. In this presentation, we look at data which can be collected online to allow for detection and subsequent diagnostics of bushing deterioration including differentiation between raw measurements of waveforms, root mean square RMS currents and ABC phase, derived values of power factor and capacitance and linking to other online techniques such as thermal imaging and PD/EMI surveying and monitoring.
