Membership Drive 2023
The IEEE Membership Drive was organized by the IEEE GRIET SB Core Committee from 19 December to 23 December 2022, with the goal of educating all students about the benefits of the vast IEEE platform. Initially, a poster highlighting the benefits of IEEE membership was circulated. The vast number of IEEE membership perks were then outlined in detail in a PowerPoint presentation that was presented in all classes. The several advantages of IEEE membership include
- Being technically up to date
- Obtaining IEEE publications and research papers
- Networking with others in the field
- Joining various IEEE societies and communities
- Taking part in exciting contests
- Acquiring travel grants and project funding
and numerous other benefits.
IEEE GRIET Student Branch events and initiatives were then presented to the students. The IEEE GRIET SB offers a range of workshops, seminars, technical talks, and industrial visits for students. It aims to
- Educate students about the latest technological developments
- Familiarise them with a variety of practical technologies
- Make learning more engaging and interesting through quizzes and hackathons
- Provide them with the exposure required to enhance their engineering skills
- Encourage teamwork and accountability by having them organize and participate in a variety of events
Also, the students were briefed on the flagship event, Pragnya'22, whose focus was to celebrate engineering. A help desk was set up near the IT block where students could obtain memberships and clarify their queries. This year's membership drive was a remarkable success, attaining around 319 memberships, exceeding the previous year's records.
