For this seminar, we will explore the various techniques used to socially engineer people to achieve desired outcomes. We will delve into the psychology of social engineering to better understand why it works and how best to avoid it.
Biography:
Professor Kurek is currently working full time in the industry as the Senior Threat Hunter and Incident Responder for Eversource and as a Cyber Operations Planner for the Army National Guard. He holds certifications in CISM, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFE, GPEN, CCNA, CCNA Security, Cisco CyberOps, ITIL, CompTIA A+, Project+, Network+, Security+, FEMA COOP Planning and Trainer, FEMA Community Cyber Exercise Planning. He developed the Cybersecurity degree at Nashua Community College. He has partnered with agencies such DHS, CISA, and the FBI for numerous defensive cyber operations. Professor Kurek holds degrees from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Springfield Community College and Masters of Science in Information Assurance and Security from American Military University.
