Midway Village Museum - History of Engineering and Manufacturing in Rockford, Illinois.
History and stories of the past come to life at the award-winning Midway Village Museum in
Rockford, Illinois. We invite you to visit and explore Midwestern life as it was during the early
1900s through artifacts, exhibits, special events and tours. In addition to our Victorian-era
Village, a Main Museum Center at Midway Village Museum offers visitors the opportunity to
engage and explore history through interactive exhibits in the more than 20,000 square feet of
gallery spaces. The Main Museum Center houses six exhibition galleries, collections storage,
classrooms, workrooms, administrative offices, library, audio-visual room, and the Museum Gift
Store. This section includes links to some of our most popular exhibits, including our
acclaimed "Many Faces, One Community" exhibit. This gallery depicts the history of
immigration to Rockford and how our community developed through the perseverance of
immigrants from many countries and cultures. The Old Dolls’ House Museum is located across
the parking lot in its own building. Woodward Millhouse is an 1860s recreated mill with
functioning waterwheel located on Lake Severin and can be toured by appointment only. The
Main Museum Center is handicap accessible. Tel: 815-397-9112, www.midwayvellage.com
