The talk will present FlexPlan.jl, a Julia package for modeling stochastic network planning problems considering AC and DC technology, storage and demand flexibility as possible expansion candidates. FlexPlan.jl supports systems composed of both transmission and balanced distribution networks, which can be optimized jointly or using a heuristic procedure that decouples the two grid levels.

Biography:

Matteo Rossini is a researcher at Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico – RSE (Milan, Italy), where he has been working on optimization techniques for the development of energy systems since 2020. He received a M.Sc. degree in Mathematics (2019) and a B.Sc. degree in Physics (2015) from University of Milan (Italy). He is involved in the EU FlexPlan project and is the main contributor of FlexPlan.jl. Passionate about the tools he uses, he never misses an opportunity to speak well of the Julia language.
