Ventsi Korichkov

Topic:

Trees & Utilities All Around Us

Implementation of data driven vegetation management strategy aimed at improving grid resiliency through the efficient management of risk mitigation measures.

Biography:

Ventsi Korichkov

Ventsi Korichkov is a Vegetation Resiliency Manager at Eversource with 15 years of experience in the Utility Vegetation Management industry helping grid owners manage their vegetation risk. Specializing in risk assessment and work planning Ventsi uses that experience to develop and implement data-driven, risk-based strategies for vegetation management.

Having worked for/with several electric utilities across the southwest and northeast, Ventsi had a unique opportunity to learn the risk mitigation and operational challenges of each utility in the respective region. Passionate about operational excellence and process improvements, Ventsi works on harnessing the power of remote sensing to see risk distribution across entire networks, applies powerful work prioritization tools and converts that information into actionable work tasks for operation managers.

Ventsi earned two master’s degrees, one from University of Forestry, Sofia, Bulgaria – MS in Forest Management, and one from California State University San Bernardino – Master of Business Administration in Finance. To give back to the industry, Ventsi is an active member of the Best Management Practices of the Utility Arborist Association.

Outside work, Ventsi enjoys gardening, playing soccer, reading technical and non-technical literature, and playing with his children.
