Digital Smart Substation (DSS) Practices
IEEE PES Baltimore & Technical Presentation on March 16, 2022 from 12 PM to 1 PM Eastern Time. Please join us for this IEEE PES event and feel free to share the event with your network. Registration will be open until the night before the event. The virtual meeting information will be sent and emailed to registrants of the event.
Substations are an important aspect of our power delivery system. They provide a location to step up or down voltage, equipment can be removed from service for maintenance or because of a fault and system operators can remotely and or locally monitor many aspects of a substations.
And like all things today, substations are also advancing with our digital age. During this talk, we will explore what is Digital Smart Substation (DSS). This includes features of a DSS, an overview of IEC 61850, substation SCADA / network basics and Centralized Substation Protection.
All attendees will receive a certificate for one PDH.
