IEEE Xtreme 16.0 is the 16th Iteration of the competitive programming hackathon event organized by IEEE, wherein the students would compete against one another to solve questions, released throughout the 24-hr span of the event. The Student Branches from IEEE SEC & IEEE SIT collaborated to enable the participants to compete on-campus, offline, in the Steve Jobs Hall. Each team was allowed to have up to 3 Members and 1 Proctor and they had to mention beforehand about their preferred mode of attendance. The day started off at 5:30am, with 3 Problems to be solved and as the day progressed, more problems were released, the students worked against the clock to get the maximum number of answers. The Management did their due diligence by organizing high-speed connections, making scrumptious meals to fuel the coders. At 4:30pm, Mr Sampathkumar Veeraraghavan, the President-elect of IEEE HKN joined us virtually, to guide the students, motivate them and sharing his profound insights. The students, while hard at work against the clock, found the time to network with fellow participants, kept each other awake with sweet anecdotes, jokes to keep the morale high. The event then came to an end at 5:30am on Sunday, 23rd October. The Student Teams from both institutions performed exceptionally well, their efforts helped us rank 1st Internationally in terms of active participants and alas, came an end to the glorious hackathon which brought out the talents of the inquisitive coders.
