#1 Java Fundamentals
On the warm evening of Monday, 14th November, the IEEE SIT Student Branch decided to initiate the first segment of their event, the ForBy series, a student-led initiative to connect fellow college-mates and gain valuable insights. The segment, titled “Java Fundamentals” was held online, through Google Meet, and the chief speaker was Monish K, who was the ex-Chairman of IEEE SB SIT and is now working as an iOS Developer at Zoho Corp. He started at 7:30pm, by engaging with the students on the purpose of programming, how programming languages are the means to an end, and carried on by explaining the fundamental concepts, principles of object-oriented programming, which Java is famous for, to give the students a clear understanding of the paradigms involved, using an Integrated Development Environment (namely IntelliJ). Students were active in the duration of the event, asking insightful questions, networking with one another, making this endeavor fruitful.
