Regular meeting of the IEEE Engineering and Medical Biology Chapter of the Lone Star Section, followed by a technical talk. Meeting held jointly with LSS Robotics and Automation Chapter, and the Life Members Affinity Group.
Please note: Members will pay for their meals in the Food Court. IEEE will cover $10.00 of each student's meal.

Da Vinci Surgical Robot: History of robotic surgery and where are we going, Perspectives from a prostate cancer surgeon
Robotic surgery came to San Antonio in 2004. Dr Kella discusses the history of prostate cancer surgery, which was the original spark for robotic surgery. We will discuss some of the controversies and ideas of the future of robotic surgery and some of the issues.

SUMMARY
I am board certified in urology, with a fellowship in urologic oncology and robotic surgery. I am known for my experience in treating prostate cancer and have performed over 3000 robotic prostate cancer surgeries in their entirety. This makes me the most experienced robotic prostate surgeon in San Antonio as well one of the most experienced in the nation. Over the years, I have expanded my skills into men's health, including sexual health and weight management.

I completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at Baylor School of Medicine with a focus in robotic surgery. Afterwards, I joined a large group practice in San Antonio, Texas. My expertise is in robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer. I have performed over 2000 cases. For 2009 and 2010, I was fortunate enough to have the largest volume of prostatectomy cases in Texas.
