Mr. Schornak reviewed some basics of home networking and discussed in detail the use of Raspberry Pi units to solve some home network issues.
In particular, described the setup and operation of:
- Private DNS server to suppress advertisements and tracking in your browser
- Private VPN server to foil hackers and HULU location tracking.
Mr. Schornak also discussed the use of a travel route to provide VPN support for all your devices. In particular he discussed using the following to create a home network: Raspberry Pi -4, Wireguard VPN, Slate Plus GL Wireless Encrypted Travel Router.

Biography:
Cliff Schornak has served as the CTO of Commetrex for the last 32 years and recently upon the death of his cofounder, CEO. He has been responsible for the design and implementation of the entire Commetrex Fax Technology suite, including multiple implementations of T.30 along with its support modems and image conversions, T.38 Relay and Terminating T.38. Most recently he has added V.34 support to all of Commetrex Fax product line and developed a fax analysis tool, FaxTap, for the lawful intercept market.
Cliff received his BS in Math and Physics in 1972, his MS in computer science from Georgia Tech in 1974 and his MBA in Finance from George Washington University in 1980.
After Georgia Tech, Cliff worked in the electronic intelligence business for various DOD contractors before moving to the telephony business in 1982. He developed one of the first PC plug-in boards for computer controlled phone lines. He worked on call center automation for Bell South and finally co-founded Commetrex Corporation in 1990.
Cliff holds 2 patents for fax technology.
Cliff lives in Navarre Florida with his wife of 43 years. Their son also graduated from Georgia Tech in a Masters in computer science and lives northern Atlanta.
