1TJPC - Flip-flop Qubit by Kristian Weegink
This month Kristian will present to us a single-atom "flip-flop" qubit that is electrically driven (as opposed to magnetically driven, which is painful as it doesn't integrate well). The new qubit is implemented as a phosphorus donor in silicon with quantum information encoded in the electron-nuclear state. The qubit is controlled using local electric fields at microwave frequencies, produced within a metal-oxide-semiconductor device. There is also some hyperfine coupling going on, which will be interesting to learn more about.
So please join us for some flip-flop action!
