Join IEEE Tulsa members and Tulsa area engineers to hear Sean Kelley from Dykman Electrical, Inc. go over all the aspects of the IEEE-841 standard as it relates to real world features on a few demo motors that will be available to touch and feel.

Standard for Petroleum and Chemical Industry--Premium-Efficiency, Severe-Duty, Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled (TEFC) Squirrel Cage Induction Motors--Up to and Including 370 kW (500 hp)

This standard applies to premium-efficiency totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) and totally enclosed non-ventilated (TENV), horizontal and vertical, single-speed, squirrel cage polyphase induction motors, 0.75-370 kW (1-500 hp), and up to 4160 V, in National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) frame sizes 143T and larger, for petroleum, chemical, and other severe-duty applications (commonly referred to as premium-efficiency severe-duty motors). Excluded from the scope of this standard are motors with sleeve bearings and additional specific features required for explosion-proof motors.

Food and drinks will be provided by IEEE Tulsa.

From Dykman:

Find the best quality motor for your application

Dykman's famous dare to compare presentation not only goes into the details of the IEEE-841 specification and how it applies to electric motors, It also exemplifies how each major motor manufactuerer properly applies the specification in there build process. 841 motors are deemed to be the “cadillac of motors” come see why with this hands on training is so valued, and see what brands are putting that extra effort in the build vs those who cut corners to make a profit. This is a zero slide show presentation, it is fully hands on and for those who have never seen the inside of a motor will have the chance to see the inside of everyones motors! We will have a layout of the below brands in a 5HP 1800RPM TEFC 184T completely dis-assembled.

1.0 PDH certificates available for attendees.
