IEEE Winter Networking event and Mixer
Time to Network! You are invited to join IEEE Winter Network event at the popular Botanic Bar conveniently located at QUT gardens point in Brisbane CBD. Get to know your fellow young professionals and our IEEE senior members to find out about the benefits of IEEE membership in an informal and fun-filled setting. The bar located in a recently developed buildings (P block) and offers the community a large, vibrant space overlooking the Brisbane River. It is in an ideal location, being within 5 minutes walking distance of the Brisbane CBD. Everyone will need to pay for their own food and drinks (which are well priced). Limited finger foods will be provided by IEEE Young Professionals.
Our key note speaker, Donald Cook, will give us a talk about his success journey as a Young professional and his career at DSTO.

Donald Cook of DSTO
Donald Cook is an Electronics Engineer with the Applied Hypersonics Branch of the Defence Science and Technology Group (formerly DSTO). Donald graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering & Bachelor of Science in 2008 as valedictorian of his engineering class. Donald joined DST Group in 2010 where he has gained experience in the design, build-up, qualification and ultimately flight testing of sounding rocket experiments for the Hypersonic International Flight Research Experimentation (HIFiRE) Program. In 2012 the HIFiRE Program was awarded the ICAS von Karman Award for International Cooperation in Aeronautics.
