DFFT (Data Free Flow with Trust) Initiative meeting for G7
DFFT (Data Free Flow with Trust) Initiative meeting for G7 Digital Technology Ministers' Meeting
Japan has developed a comprehensive data strategy based on the DFFT (Data Free Flow with Trust) concept to promote the creation of a trusted data society. In this promotion, Japan is building a federal-type data collaboration platform (DATA-EX) that is not limited to specific fields or business categories.
And in this field, many stakeholders in the world have established an architecture for data federation and a system for implementing and operating such an architecture.
However, because data is not tangible and can be easily copied, a trust infrastructure that guarantees the authenticity and integrity of stakeholders and the data handled is important to realize its free flow.
As sovereign nations, the G7 countries have their own regional and national data rules, but to promote the new economy based on data collaboration, it is important to have a trust foundation based on shared values and common recognition as the foundation of the new economy.
We have been continuing discussions with key organizations in various countries on data collaboration to create a data society, beginning with an international roundtable meeting held in February 2023 by DSA & IEEE P3800 WG.
Based on the results of these discussions, we have compiled a set of recommendations for the G7 Digital Ministerial Meeting, which will be made public at this meeting, and the background and aims of the meeting will be widely discussed.
