Abstract: 

This presentation will be on “Arc Flash Protection by Design.”

With increasing emphasis on safety and protection from arc flash hazards, there is increasing pressure on design professionals to include distribution equipment features which help mitigate potential arcing event hazards, either reduction or eliminating them altogether.

It is the purpose of this presentation to review general methods of reducing arc flash hazards and help design professionals consider the variety of options available to them.

Biography:

Andrew Young has 10 years of journeyman electrician experience, prior to earning a degree from Louisiana State University in Construction Management. Andrew has over 5 years’ experience in sales and distribution experience with Eaton Corporation.

Biography:

Shawn Johnson has over 30 years’ experience in engineering, including assignments in consulting, utility distribution engineering, petro-chemical environment, sales with Schneider (late 90’s), 8 years sales with Eaton, and presently is an Application Engineer for the gulf district of Eaton Corporation.
