Centrica Energy Trading in Antwerp offers end-to-end solutions to valorize flexible energy production and consumption assets. It is part of Centrica Plc, a worldwide energy service provider and energy supplier with 26 million clients, both residential (B2C) and industrial (B2B). Our third-party clients are provided with the best energy route-to-market services. This is made possible through sophisticated software, structuring and optimisation solutions from long term risk management to executing physical trading seconds before delivery. Capacity under management, including renewables and optimisation assets such as battery and CHP, increased to 15.4 GW in 2022 of which 75% are renewable technologies. Besides the B2B activities, the Antwerp office focuses on the development of energy optimization and demand-side response solutions to support residential customers in the transition to a net-zero society. We successfully manage a variety of residential assets to help reducing end-users’ energy bill and to support the stability of the energy system, using the latest advances in machine learning and optimal control.
