IEEE HASHEMITE UNIVERSITY RAS - ROBOTICS WEEK 2023
Robotics week is a popular event based in the United States of America, the goal of Robotics Week is to showcase the latest advancements in Robotics technology, highlight the contributions of robotics to society and promote education and career opportunities in Robotics-related fields. Activities during Robotics Week include Robotics competitions, demonstrations, workshops, and educational events.
The event is meant to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem solvers to pursue careers in STEM, particularly in Robotics, an increasingly important field in today's world.
The event also connects young innovators with each other. It encourages collaboration between experts and stakeholders in the field to share ideas and develop new technologies that can improve people's lives.
Overall, the goal of Robotics Week is to create a platform for dialogue, education, and innovation in the field of robotics and to advance the field's impact on society.
The IEEE HU Student Branch Robotics Week 2022 was incredible and proved beneficial for a significant number of students, as mentioned previously. This year the event will hold between 20, MAY 2023, and 24, MAY 2023. We aim to expand the program, particularly by adding more practical activities, such as workshops, to increase the number of students benefiting from them. Our goal is to raise awareness about robotics in general and provide the students with the technical skills that are needed in this field and to keep up with the ever-growing world of robotics.
The robotics week activities will be distributed as follow:
1. Session day
The Robotics Week will start on Saturday, May 20, 2023, and will be held at Amman (outside the Hashemite University). This day will include the event opening ceremony and many different activities. The biggest share of the day will be dedicated to sessions presenting and talking about various topics related to robotics and it will include a debate. Additionally, the day will include entertainment parts throughout.
2. Plenty of hands-on workshops
Throughout the remainder of the week (Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday), numerous training workshops will be held, covering a variety of technical topics in robotics. These workshops will not only provide theoretical knowledge but will also incorporate hands-on training to enhance practical skills in the field. Participants will have the opportunity to apply what they learn during the workshops to further develop their technical skills.
3. Booths and exhibitions about robotics
On Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023, an exciting activity will take place at the Faculty of Engineering at our university (The Hashemite University). The event will feature a full-day booth showcasing various topics related to robotics in collaboration with companies in the field. Also, attendees will have the opportunity to explore and learn about different robots created by Jordanian students from various universities by showing their robots and projects on this day.
