Razavi - FUNDAMENTALS OF NOISE WEBINAR SERIES 3 & 4 - Columbus SSC37/CAS04 Chapter
The Joint Chapter of the Solid-State Circuits (SSC) and Circuits and Systems (CAS) Societies is putting on another technical webinar event delving into the fundamentals of noise in circuits and systems. The virtual instructor for this webinar will be Behzad Razavi delivering lectures 3 and 4 from his “Fundamentals of Noise Series” available on the Solid-State Circuits Society website. The plan is to watch the first two videos of the series each of which are around 30 minutes in length, with a brief intermission and discussion after each video.
This event will be a hybrid style with food and refreshments provided by the chapter for in-person attendees. Please register at the link below and let us know if you will be attending and whether you will be online or in-person!
Abstract: Noise presents fundamental trade-offs in circuit design, requiring a rigorous understanding of the noise properties of various circuit topologies. This lecture series begins with basic noise concepts and the noise models necessary for representing the behavior of resistors and transistors. It then deals with the analysis of noise in circuits and provides a methodical, intuitive approach. Next, the noise performance of basic amplifier stages is formulated, and key insights are developed. Finally, these insights are applied to the design of low-noise op amps and switched-capacitor circuits.
