The lecturere presented a general description of Foucault pendulums named after French physicist Leon Foucault plus a discussion of their scientific significance, their physics and their applicability. Attention was paid to what may be called their lesser-known physics and why Foucault pendulums sometimes do not work but how to tame them. Design details and examples were then presented.
