Special Event – May 23 – Limited space – Registration required – Please read details


Location:   Toyota Motor North America Inc. 6565 Headquarters Drive, Plano, TX 75024, see attached map for visitor parking location and instructions.

Registration using IEEE vTools is required: There are a limited number of seats that will be allocated to the first people to register.  

 

Schedule:  Sign-in & lunch 11:30 AM; Presentation: 12-12:45 PM; Campus Tour 12:45-1:30 PM

Cost:  Free - boxed lunch is included compliments of Toyota

This is a special event that will take place at the Toyota campus.  There are a limited number of seats.  You must register online using IEEE vTools to reserve a seat on a first come, first served basis.

This event will be 2 hours, including lunch, a presentation and a tour of the Toyota Campus.

Abstract

Toyota All Electric! 

In 2022 Toyota released its first all electric vehicle, the bZ4X, based on the e-TNGA platform, part of the Toyota bZ ("beyond Zero") series of zero-emissions vehicles.  And now in 2023 Lexus has introduced its first electric, the RZ 450e which shares the same platform with increased performance, opulence and features including optional steer-by-wire technology.

 

This special presentation will include a brief tour of the Toyota Campus and a review of select systems of the bZ4X and RZ 450e. Boxed lunches will be included compliments of Toyota.

 

The vehicle presentation will discuss basic drivetrain structure of the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ 450e systems including: Battery, Motors, Electric Converter Unit, High Voltage Shut-off, Charging, Thermal Management System, Heat Pump System.

Biography

John Spielman is a Technical Training Analyst with Toyota Motor North America, Inc. Mr. Spielman has almost 30 years of experience in the Automotive industry, including 2 years as a Technical Training Analyst/Curriculum Designer at Toyota Motor North America, 16 years as Instructional Designer at American Honda Motor Co., 7 years with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality - Vehicle Inspection Program, and holds an Automotive Associates Degree from Mount Hood Community College.
